Rules and Regulations
Schools have many rules and regulations and constantly add new ones to the list whilst removing obsolete rules and regulations from time to time. The list below is not exhaustive, but serves to highlight some of the standing rules and regulations of Glenwood House.
RULES FOR THE PROTECTION OF OUR PROPERTY
1. Vandalism of any kind will not be tolerated.
2. Theft or the unauthorised removal or use of school or other people's property or possessions will not be tolerated.
RULES FOR PERSONAL PROTECTION
3. No bullying or unruly behaviour will be tolerated.
4. No dangerous weapons are to be brought to school.
5. Smoking, drinking of alcohol and the taking of illegal drugs are not permitted.
6. No pupil may leave the school's premises without official permission.
7. Absentee notes must be presented at school for all absences. Any absence exceeding one day requires a medical certificate.
RULES TO PROTECT THE SCHOOL'S NAME AND HONOUR
8. The use of foul language is not permitted.
9. Whenever school uniform is worn, pupils must comply with the schools's full dress code, including hair, make-up and jewellery. No decorative jewellery may be worn, i.e. watches, earrings, chains, rings, etc.
10. NO hair colour is permitted, including tinting and highlighting.
11. Pupils are to behave with the same decorum and obedience to school rules and regulations when off campus.
12. Pupils are to greet and display courtesy to all visitors.
RULES TO PROMOTE RESPECT
13. Pupils are to give the right of way to teachers or any other adults.
14. Pupils are to stand when addressing teachers or any other adults.
15. No pupils may have their hands in their pockets.
RULES FOR SPORTSMANSHIP
16. The display of poor sportsmanship both on and off the field will not be tolerated.
GENERAL APPEARANCE
17. Pupils are not permitted to have tattoos or body piercings.
18. No make-up is allowed. Pupils are not permitted to have tinted eyelashes or eyebrows.
19. Pupils may only wear clear nail varnsih, and no french manicures are allowed.
20. No religious symbols or attire, e.g. head scarves, kaftans, head-dress, nose studs/rings, etc. will be permitted.
